Welcome to MELA House. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of this website and any services, purchases or content associated with MELA House. By accessing this website or engaging with our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our website.

1. About Us

MELA House is a fine line tattoo studio located in Richmond, Melbourne. Owned and operated by Melanie Thorn, we offer tattoo services, merchandise, and custom art projects under the MELA brand.

2. Appointments & Cancellations

    •    All appointments require a non-refundable deposit to secure your booking.

    •    To reschedule, you must provide at least 72 hours’ notice. Reschedules are subject to availability.

    •    Cancellations or no-shows will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.

    •    Deposits are not transferable between clients or artists.

    •    Artists reserve the right to reschedule appointments due to illness, emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.

3. Artist Availability

    •    Each MELA artist operates with individual schedules and availability.

    •    Regular studio hours may vary depending on the artist.

    •    While we strive to accommodate your preferred artist, availability is not guaranteed, and wait times may apply.

4. Studio Conduct & Client Responsibilities

    •    You must be 18 years or older and present valid photo ID at your appointment.

    •    Friends or guests are not permitted in the tattooing area unless approved in advance.

    •    Clients must disclose any relevant medical conditions, allergies, or skin sensitivities prior to tattooing.

    •    Clients are responsible for following all aftercare instructions. MELA House is not liable for issues arising from improper aftercare.

5. Photography & Content Use

    •    We may take photographs or videos of tattoos for promotional use across our website and social media platforms.

    •    By receiving a service at MELA House, you consent to the studio capturing and using content of your tattoo, body part, or session unless you explicitly request otherwise in writing before your appointment.

6. Gift Cards & Vouchers

    •    MELA House gift cards are non-refundable and non-transferable.

    •    They can only be redeemed for tattoos or merchandise at MELA House.

    •    Gift cards must be used within 12 months from the date of purchase.

    •    Lost or stolen gift cards will not be replaced.

7. Payments & Refunds

    •    All payments must be made via EFTPOS, cash, or approved digital platforms.

    •    Merchandise purchases are final. We do not offer refunds for change of mind.

    •    Exchanges may be accepted for unworn, unused items in original condition within 14 days and in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

    •    Deposits for appointments are non-refundable under all circumstances.

8. Intellectual Property

    •    All artwork, tattoo designs, digital content, photos, and branding are the intellectual property of MELA House and its artists.

    •    You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, or use any of our content for commercial or personal purposes without prior written consent.

9. Liability Disclaimer

    •    Tattooing is a personal and permanent procedure. Results will vary based on skin type, placement, and individual care.

    •    MELA House and its staff are not liable for reactions, fading, or outcomes once you leave the studio.

    •    While all hygiene and safety standards are strictly followed, you accept all risks associated with receiving a tattoo.

10. Privacy Policy

Your personal information is kept confidential and used only for appointment booking, communication, and service delivery. For more information, refer to our full Privacy Policy (#).

11. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of our website or services signifies your agreement to any changes made.
